Angela Scanlon has become the second high-profile Irish presenter to join Virgin Radio in the UK in recent months, with the Meath native to take over the weekend breakfast slot recently vacated by Graham Norton.
She follows former RTÉ star Ryan Tubridy, who has been presenting weekday mid-morning shows on Virgin Radio since January.
Scanlon will start her new breakfast show on Saturdays and Sundays from 7am-10am, from April 27th.
The station has announced a revamp of its line-up, welcoming “new and familiar voices to new time slots”.

Virgin Radio UK content director Mike Cass said that the station has had “a lot of great listener feedback on Angela Scanlon”.

“I know how many of you have dreamt about waking up to my husky dulcet tones, well dreams come true,” Scanlon said.
“I’ll be getting up with you every weekend on Virgin Radio and I am inappropriately excited. Stick the kettle on!”
Norton left his weekend show on the station in February, saying that he wanted his weekends back.
Scanlon hosts BBC’s interiors show Your Home Made Perfect, has regularly filled in to guest host The One Show and previously presented Robot Wars. She also took part in Strictly Come Dancing last year.
