Chicago band The Redwalls kick off their third album with Colourful Revolution, complete with a loping bass figure similar to Paul McCartney's in Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, and my head did a few swivels. But then the Stones, Dylan and The Beatles meet up for You'll Never Know, and the influences (primarily the Fab Four) just keep coming through the other nine tracks. It is more than 40 years since the heyday of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, early Dylan etc, and it's perfectly acceptible for The Redwalls to go scavenging through their parents' record collection and revisit the era. But their take weighs too heavily on the fawning - like a tribute band with their own songs. My foot was tapping, though! www. theredwalls.com
