Internet powerAn internet campaign has reputedly convinced chocolate manufacturer Cadbury to relaunch its Wispa bar in Ireland and Britain.

The company said it was responding to lobbying from "hordes" of fans of the bubbly chocolate bar introduced in the 1980s and taken off the shelves four years ago.

Popular social networking site Facebook hosts no fewer than 93 "Bring Back Wispa" groups with almost 14,000 members, while the bar is the subject of similar groups on Bebo, YouTube and MySpace. In addition, the campaign has featured online petitions, banner appearances at festivals, letters in papers and calls to national radio stations.

At Glastonbury, two Irish Wispa fans stormed Iggy Pop's performance with a "Bring Back Wispa" banner. About 2.5 million Wispa Classic bars will be released in Ireland "for a limited period" from October 8th.

The monkey case ended with the creature running off with a holidaymaker's camera, the Go Travel Insurance company said. Another holidaymaker called saying his daughter had singed her hair on the oven in their apartment. As a result, she had to have her hair cut, badly, as it happened. As it happened, while they were away the man thought that travel insurance should cover the cost.
