Headline acts at this year’s five-day Temple Bar Trad Fest, which kicks off next Wednesday in Dublin’s cultural quarter, include Finbar Furey, Líadan, and the distinctly non-Irish Lo Cor de la Plana, who hail from Marseille.

The festival will also feature a free family programme. The Buí Bolg Theatre Company will take to the streets on Saturday and Sunday, while a free family céilí will also take place on Meeting House Square on Sunday, with music by the Kilfenora Céilí Band.

For those who’d prefer something stronger than milk and juice, there’s also a pub trail, with performances by Liam Ó Maonlaí, Eleanor Shanley and Kíla, a Trad Fest market on Cow’s Lane, and a photography exhibition in FilmBase.

“Come into Temple Bar, let your hair down and celebrate all that is good about our heritage and culture!” urges festival programmer Kieran Hanrahan. www.templebartrad.com
