Some club experiences live long in the memory, and this writer vividly recalls a couple of New York City Sunday afternoons in the late 1990s soundtracked by François Kevorkian (pictured) on the decks at Body & Soul.
That fabled residency was just one stop-off point in Kevorkian’s starry backstory. He’s a veteran who has played many parts in dance music’s rich history, from working with the likes of Walter Gibbons and Prelude Records to remixing superstar acts (U2, The Cure, Eurythmics, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode). Spells at such seminal club nights as The Loft, Paradise Garage, Body & Soul and, most recently, Deep Space copperfastened François K’s rep for deep, dubby disco soundscapes.
François K hs played Ireland a couple of times in the past, so expect a big turnout for tonight’s four-hour trip into his world and grooves.
