Jenny Greene and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra must be the hottest ticket in Stradbally. Rankin’s Wood is jammers for the set, which sees hits from the dance music canon performed with classical music backing.
The orchestra’s strings inject a little extra octane in the engines of tracks like Tiesto’s Adagio For Strings, while the live vocals on Fragma’s I Need a Miracle and You’ve Got To Show Me Love are thrilling to hear over the electronic beats.
But there’s no major reinvention to these beloved tracks. That they still rollick crowds in 2017 is a testament to their timeless power.
In three words: a classical makeover
