The release of this disc is designed to capitalise on the fame of Anna Netrebko, currently the toast of the operatic world. The contents of the disc form an eclectic mix of lieder, operetta, salon songs and traditional music reflecting the personal choices of the singer. She is at her best in the quiet passages where she sings with beautiful tone and secure legato, but singing out in the higher passages her voice seems to have developed a beat that was not there in earlier recordings, and which may be caused by fatigue from a hectic schedule. Additional attractions of the disc are duets with mezzo Elina Garanca and tenor Piotr Beczala, both outstanding singers and in fine voice here.

Overall, this is an enjoyable disc - although it has a laid back recording quality.
