Slave to the Cat Gang
Alphabet Set
It's time to go back on the road again, and Irish producer Damien Lynch is waiting for you to join him.
Karahee, his excellent 2007 debut album, came across as the creepy soundtrack to a slithery road movie by John Carpenter.
Slave to the Cat Ganghas Lynch rooting once again through a rag-bag of old-school electronic music influences. He's still shows an obvious fondness for the halycon days of Warp and the fuzzy, buzzy electro hip-hop of the same era, but there are some interesting progressions to note. Both Sea Wolfand the excellent Once When, for instance, are creepy and striking because Lynch has spent as much time toning their textures as their beats. This is the sound of a producer very much growing in confidence. www.myspace.com/sarsparillamusic
