The latest in the Luminesfranchise doesn't waver from its template (which itself borrows liberally from Tetris). It's a puzzle game that marries nightclub tunes with sparkling visuals. The object is to match descending blocks with one another. Move the matching colours into place and a cube disappears. Once the screen fills up, it's game over. The collision of the blocks make a snap that complements the music, and the background and block colours change as the tunes do. The visuals and the music transform in waves – house music throbs to disco lights, ambient sounds chime along with monochrome patterns and so on. The playlist is a diverse mix , among them Aphex Twin, Art of Noise, Chemical Brothers and The Pet Shop Boys. Apart from optional touch-screen controls, it doesn't really exploit the Vita. But it's chic, addictive and hypnotic.
