The word "admits" in the headline "Lawlor admits HIV threat was not given priority" in yesterday's editions was not intended to imply any admission of guilt on the part of Dr Emer Lawlor. The purpose was to convey that she accepted the validity of the statement. Dr Lawlor, who is deputy medical director of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS), is an expert witness at the Lindsay Tribunal for the IBTS but was not working there at the time in question.
