SMALL PRINT:THE REVELATION that Tony Blair is the godfather to Rupert Murdoch and Wendi Deng's nine-year-old daughter Grace, tangles yet again the web of connections between the Murdoch empire and British politicians. It's not the first time a random well-known person has cropped up as the godparent of another, and although Blair's connection to the Murdochs is slightly more important than Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie asking Bono to be the godfather of their twins, here are some of the other most unlikely godparents.
Spielberg’s dual role
Steven Spielberg is Drew Barrymore’s godfather (her godmother is Sophia Loren) and also Gwyneth Paltrow’s godfather. Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin chose comedian, actor and producer Simon Pegg to be the godfather to their daughter, Apple.

Elizabeth Hurley’s son had six godfathers when he was a baby; her former partner Hugh Grant, Elton John and his husband David Furnish, actor Denis Leary, Heath Ledger and Gloucestershire’s Sudeley Castle heir Henry Dent-Brocklehurst.

Elton John confirmed in April this year during an interview on Saturday Night Livethat Lady Gaga was the godmother to his and David Furnish's son Zachary. In turn, as well as Elizabeth Hurley's son, Elton John is the godfather of Victoria and David Beckham's sons Romeo and Brooklyn.
