By the book: resource pack

Next week sees the launch of the new resource for schools, The Get Up and Go Mini-Company Manual

Next week sees the launch of the new resource for schools, The Get Up and Go Mini-Company Manual. Developed by the Transition Year Support Service, the pack provides a step-by-step guide to forming a mini-company, covering everything from legislation to market research to finance.

The mini-company programme has been running in Transition Year for more than 20 years, but this is the first time that teachers and students will have a definitive resource that takes them through every aspect of the process from brainstorming to winding down.

"The pack provides templates for everything," says Catherine Cooke-Harkin, who helped to develop the new resource. "Debtors' ledgers, sample questionnaires for market research, share book certificates, application forms for company registration - it's all there for teachers and pupils to copy and use in the classroom."

From day one of the project students and teachers can use this guide, which is so comprehensive that older entrepreneurs might even be on the hunt for a copy soon!
