LYNES & Lynes of Cork is holding its first auction of the autumn season next Tuesday evening at the Ashbourne House Hotel, Glouthaune, Co Cork. Among the more unusual items in the 450 odd lots are four old horse drawn bread carts, which have been on an old Cobb estate for the past four decades. They are expected to make £500-£800 each.

More traditional pieces in the same sale include an 18th century oak court cupboard (estimate £1,000-£1,500), a large Georgian mahogany breakfast or dining table (£800-£1,200) and a set of eight Edwardian Chippendale dining chairs (£2,000-£3,000). An early Victorian davenport is expected to make £1,200-£1,500, as is a late Regency elm side cabinet. An early oak storage chest should sell for £500-£700.
