This week's web roundup
A clever click in Legoland
INSTALL:Lego Photo is a clever free application from the evergreen Danish maker of children's bricks.
Take a picture, or choose one you already have on your iPhone, and at the press of a button you can see how the image would look made of Lego bricks.
Lots of fun particularly if you have chilldren of Lego-building-age. www.legoclick.com
Child-friendly online resources
BOOKMARK:Tech news blog ReadWriteWeb is not as confrontational as some of its US competitors – the antagonistic TechCrunch would never publish a list of useful online resources to help parents focus their children's online activities.
Although largely US-focused, there are useful links here for anyone whose kids go online.

Channel your phone instructions
WATCH:Just in case you'd forgotten, Google owns YouTube. So it's not that surprising that the day the internet search giant launched its first branded phone, YouTube launched a channel devoted to the Google Nexus One.
As you’d expect there’s the slick corporate video telling you how the Nexus One is the “web meets phone” but there are also videos about how to do common tasks with the smartphone and getting started.
If you are curious about the hottest tech product not to launch at CES this week, have a look.

Opera put focus on Africa
READ:Opera, the Norwegian web browser-maker which has begun to focus on the mobile space, has published its monthly report on mobile web activity.
This time it includes a fascinating special report on Africa where Opera saw triple-digit percentage growth in mobile web usage in one year.
Many observers suggest Africa could lead the way on the mobile web as many Africans will never be able to afford a home PC.
