Viridian has signed a £130 million (€165 million) contract with Siemens for the construction of a power station on land at Huntstown, near Finglas in north Dublin.
The news comes less than 24 hours after the former electricity monopoly in Northern Ireland bought out CRH, its partner in the Huntstown project. The company announced that Viridian Power Company had signed contracts for the building of the 340 Mw gas-fired plant. It is expected to be operational in June 2002.
