Cork-to-Swansea ferry representatives said last night they had been permitted by the court-appointed examiner to continue their discussions with Irish and Welsh agencies to find a funding solution to save the service.

A statement from the West Cork Tourism Co-Operative Society said the Fastnet Line had been engaged in negotiations during the day with Irish and Welsh agencies.

“The constructive dialogue between ferry representatives and both State agencies is expected to continue,” the statement said last night.
