WATCH:Viddy is like Twitter but with videos. Instead of reading 140 character nuggets of wisdom you get to watch 15 seconds of video. Naturally, there are iOS, Android and Windows Mobile apps. You record footage on your phone, tweak with Viddy's various video/lens effects and share with people. It can be signed up to via Facebook or Twitter. Noticeable celebs on Viddy include the Biebs and, wait for it, Bill Cosby with a handy icebreaker.

Why the internet won’t get you more friends

The new nanny

EDUCATION:Education portal schools.comhas created a visually impressive infographic on the impact of technology – specifically tablet devices – on children. Unsurprisingly, young children love touchscreen technology such as the iPad, but this infographic shows some interesting stats including the fact that 10 per cent of infants in the US aged 0-1 years have played with a smartphone or tablet device. There's also some great info on top education apps and their uptake.

SCIENCE:The Kahn Academy is a fantastic resource for science, engineering, humanities (and so much more) and has more than 150 million video lessons.
