Tech Tools: Bioo Lite uses plants to charge your phone via photosynthesis

A plant, a plug and a natural source of energy for your phone

Forget about solar chargers for your smartphones; here’s something that could really give your green credentials a boost.

The Bioo Lite uses your plants to create energy to charge your phone, fuelled by photosynthesis.

The plant pot draws its power from the plant as it does what plants do – giving you a USB socket that you can plug your phone into. It’s really that simple. It looks nice, it’s renewable energy and it might even save you some money on your electricity bills.

Of course you will have to remember to keep the plant in a healthy state, so if you are less than green-fingered, this may not be the best investment.

Could it be the way of the future? Maybe.
