A Kickstarter project looking for backing, Airbudz lets you to listen to music while allowing ambient noise to filter through. This may seem like a step backwards for those who are used to blocking out the world with noise cancelling headphones, but it is being done with safety in mind.

In situations where its necessary to be aware of your surroundings – cycling, running, etc – you simply swap your existing removable ear buds for Airbudz. They fit 70 per cent of the earbuds on the market, so you don’t even have to invest in new headphones.
