Online fashion retailer Zalando is to add 20 jobs at its Irish office, following the decision to locate its market insights team in Dublin.

The company is recruiting for staff in the fields of applied sciences, and software and data engineering.

The team uses machine learning to provide insights that support Zalando’s traffic and pricing platform strategy.

"This is another step into strengthening our relationship with Ireland's brilliant tech and engineering community," said Ellie Ivanova, Zalando Dublin site operations lead. "We have recently established our new long-term base in Dublin's historic Windmill Lane Quarter."

The company is targeting more diverse talent, and increasing the number of women in technology.

Zalando employs more than 2,500 people working on technology across its headquarters in Berlin and the international sites in Dublin, Dortmund, Helsinki and Zurich. It opened a technology hub in Ireland in 2015.

The company offers brands the opportunity to reach millions of customers in Europe, giving them access to a wider market, particularly for local brands.
