The shareholders of the Irish Continental Group have unanimously approved plans by Irish Ferries to spend £28.7 million on a new high speed passenger and car carrying "fast ferry" which will operate on the Dublin to Holyhead route next summer. A resolution proposing the expenditure was passed at an extraordinary general meeting of the company in Dublin yesterday.
