The countdown towards the 2004 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year continues this evening, with the screening of the second RTÉ programme profiling this year's industry nominees.
The second in a series of three documentaries produced by Setanta Television profiling this year's 24 nominees will be broadcast tonight on RTÉ 1 at 10.45 p.m.
The programmes show a "day in the life" of the entrepreneurs.
The series will culminate with the broadcasting of the final awards night on September 23rd.
The eight entrepreneurs featured tonight will be: Mr John Bowen of The Bowen Group; Mr Peter Conlon of Xsil; Mr Joe Connolly of Connolly's Red Mills; Mr Pat Cooney of the Gleeson Group and Tipperary Water; Mr Michael Hoey of Country Crest; Mr Derek Hughes of Hughes & Hughes Insomnia; Mr Thomas Kellett of Kelletts Oldcastle; and Mr Sam McCauley of Sam McCauley Chemists.
On awards night a winner will be chosen from each of the three categories - the emerging entrepreneur, the industry entrepreneur and the international services entrepreneur.
One of these category winners will then be declared Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2004.
The shortlist and winners are decided by an independent panel of judges chaired by Mr Denis O'Brien.
Last year's winner was Mr Liam Shanahan, founder of Shanahan Engineering.
