ORACLE, the computer corporation which employs over 200 people in Ireland, will almost triple the number of people it employs over the coming 12 months.
Announcing phase two of its European Business Centre in East Point Business Park, Dublin, the general manager of Oracle Corporation Ireland, Mr Kevin Jones, said the development would bring the total number of Oracle jobs in Ireland to 550 by the end of 1927.
At the weekend the corporation announced record results for the quarter ended November 30th, 1996.
Revenues increased by 36 per cent to £0.82 billion.
Net income for the period increased by 31 per cent, to £112 million.
Mr Jones said it had been a record half year for the company in Ireland in terms of sales.
As well as its European Business Centre in East Point, Oracle operates its European manufacturing headquarters in Airways Industrial Estate, Dublin; and has an international porting operation in Blackrock, Co Dublin.
