Frankfurt DAX: 2,734.82 (+18.56)
The Frankfurt stock market reached a new record yesterday. Traders said the market had been boosted by Wall Street and by the firmness of the dollar and of bonds. The bond market rose, and the average yield on government issues dropped by 0.04 of a point to 5.31 percent.
Paris CAC-40: 2,185.23 (+19.90)
The Paris Bourse closed at a high for the year to date, with CAC-40 advancing by 0.92 percent yesterday. Traders noted that the Bourse is now only around 8 per cent below its all time high.
Milan Mibtel: 9,976 (+91)
The Milan stock market joined the crowd, gaining ground on volume of more than 790 billion lire. Olivetti slipped 6.95 per cent to close near the day's lows of 449 while Gemina, also weak, ending 3.05 per cent off at 710.
