The Frankfurt stock market posted a 0.48 per cent gain as the DAX index finished at 4,440.38 points against 4,419.38 points at the official close on Thursday.

Paris CAC-40: 3172.14 (+38.32)

The Paris Bourse zoomed ahead to a new record high close in very active trading as the CAC 40 index finished at 3,172.14 points, up a strong 1.22 per cent from the Thursday close.

Milan MIBTEL: 18996 (+219)

Milan stocks powered ahead to hit the 19,000-point level on the Mibtel index, though the market could not hold quite all its gains to end at 18,996 points, up 219 points or 1.17 per cent on the day.
