The Jones Group has recorded a profit of £400,000 from the sale of Mv Rathkyle. The vessel was sold to Greek shipping company, Lotus Shipping Company, for £3.8 million. This follows the sale of MV Rathmoy to a subsidiary of Normar Holdings of Oslo, Norway, at a profit of £700,000, last November. The proceeds from the latest sale will be used to reduce group short-term borrowings, Jones said. MV Rathkyle, a 14,000 dwt product carrier, was built in 1981 and acquired by Jones in 1987. It had been on long-term contracts but more recently was on short-term contracts.
