RYANAIR has been paid by the car company Jaguar to have huge Jaguars painted on the side of its planes, as part of an unusual advertising campaign. Reports say that Jaguar paid Ryanair around £100,000 to carry the ads on its 11 Boeing 737 airlines. Ryanair said it was following the example of airlines in the US which had sold space on their planes as "billboard in the sky". The new campaign is to promote the "leaper", Jaguar's XK8 high performance sports car. The car company said it expects more than 40 million people over the next year to see the big green cat mascot on the fuselage of the Ryanair fleet.
