The Margin is pleased to report that Ireland has finished top of yet another EU league. As well as topping the growth league, Ireland has the EU's highest fertility rate, according to figures from Eurostat. While the average figure for children per woman in the EU last year was 1.66, Ireland comes in at 1.91. It may be below the old "2.3" children, but we're still at the head of the brat pack.
