Consumer confidence jumped over the summer in two of the euro zone’s largest economies as lower inflation left households feeling better off, data showed yesterday.
Germany’s forward-looking GfK indicator of shopper morale rose to 3.7 going into September, posting its highest level since June last year.
Italian consumer confidence jumped in August for the fifth consecutive month, hitting its highest level since March 2007 and close to its long-term average. – (Reuters)
