Study on e-mail response times
New research conducted for mobile operator Vodafone has found that almost 30 per cent of Irish workers expect a response to an e-mail within 30 minutes. It also found 62 per cent of employees tend to reply within half an hour.
Strata3 signs deals worth 250,000
Web development agency Strata3 has signed contracts worth more than €250,000.
The company has won contracts to provide development and hosting services to Expedia, the RDS, ECDL, Beaumont Hospital, the Royal College of Surgeons, IDA Ireland and Arup Consulting Engineers.
Gordon Clarke and BTM
Following last week’s “Sweet start for Irish computing” article, Gordon Clarke wishes to clarify that he was first employed by BTM, who supplied the technical and managerial staff to their Dublin agency, CSS. The IBM 650 that was installed in the ESB was a first-generation valve machine. Mr Clarke’s initial role at Aer Lingus was senior systems consultant in the systems services division, which provided IT services to other organisations.
