The Government last night published the Dormant Accounts Bill 2001 but has deferred examination of unclaimed matured life assurance policies because of legal complexities. Prize bonds will also fall outside the remit of the legislation. The Bill allows for the movement of money from dormant bank, building society and An Post accounts for social and community purposes, if it has lain untouched for 15 years.
