Hampden Group, the Texas Homecare and Reid Furniture company, has announced a further expansion of its Homebase franchise following an agreement to lease a 100,000 sq ft store. It will be located in a new retail park which is being planned on a site adjacent to the regional shopping centre at Sprucefield, Lisburn, Co Antrim.

The project, said Hampden, will require capital expenditure of £2.6 million sterling (€4 million) which will be funded from existing resources. The transaction will have to be sanctioned by the Hampden shareholders at an extraordinary general meeting.
