US sales of video games and game consoles totalled more than $100 million (€112 million) in the week ended December 1st, putting the industry on track for a record holiday season, according to analysts.

Merrill Lynch analyst Mr Justin Baldauf said a review of sales figures from market research firm The NPD Group shows sales of $101 million against $47 million in the week ended November 10th.
