Independent electricity and gas supplier Energia has said its 10 megawatt wind farm at Corkermore, Co Donegal, was this week fully commissioned and taken over by the company.

It has also begun civil engineering work on its Caherdowney wind farm, which is midway between Millstreet and Macroom in Co Cork.

The company plans to become Ireland’s biggest supplier of green energy to businesses, with projects with a capacity of 25 per cent of the market in planning or under construction.
