The Government will convene its first European Financial Forum at Dublin Castle in January as part of its strategy to boost employment in the IFSC by 10,000 in the next five years.
Minister of State at the Department of Finance Simon Harris said the plan was to bring together high-level figures in funds, asset management, insurance, banking and fintech with senior regulators and policymakers.
The aim is to establish the forum, on January 27th, as an annual event. Its scheduling provides an opportunity to open the year with discussion and debate on the current and future challenges confronting this most globalised of sectors,” Mr Harris said.
Speakers include Andrew Bailey, deputy governor of the Bank of England. Others include figures from insurers AIG and AXA, ING Bank and the European Banking Authority.
