Crean, the industrial holding company, has acquired Speedprint (Horsforth), a Leeds-based commercial printing business, for up to £6.7 million sterling.

The consideration consists of an initial payment of £6.2 million and a further deferred payment of up to £500,000 if certain target earnings are achieved in the trading period to December 2000. It is taking over bank debt of $1.7 million (£1.13 million).
