Compaq moves into Formula One

The Williams Formula One team is turning to Compaq supercomputers to achieve the fastest possible race car design.

The Williams Formula One team is turning to Compaq supercomputers to achieve the fastest possible race car design.

The Williams team is using Compaq's Tru64 UNIX-based AlphaServer SC series computing platform to conduct virtual aerodynamic tests.

These tests, which include the simulated performance of aerodynamic devices, are now possible in a matter of hours instead of weeks.
