Institute of Directors appoints Irish Times chairman to board

Harry Lorton also joins IoD board

The Institute of Directors has appointed Irish Times chairman Dan Flinter and Independent Trustee Company chairman Harry Lorton to its board.

Mr Flinter is a non-executive director of Aryzta and Dairygold Co-Operative, and a former chief executive of Enterprise Ireland. A former executive director of the IDA, he is chairman of The Irish Times Limited, PM Holdings and Venture Capital Investment Managers.

Mr Lorton serves as chairman of Independent Trustee Company and of the Johnson & Perrott Motor Group. He is an independent non-executive director of Bank of Ireland Mortgage Bank. He is also a member, and former chairman, of the supervisory committee at Royal Liver Assurance sub-fund.

Institute of Directors president Des Lamont said both directors have vast experience at board level, executive and non-executive.
