A site in Killiney, Co Dublin with planning permission for 31 apartments has been sold after auction for over the guide of €6.5 million. The price works out at almost €210,000 per unit before acquisition costs are taken into account.
Savills HOK handled the sale of the greenfield site of 0.3 hectares (0.76 of an acre) off Auburn Road. It is within easy walking distance of Killiney shopping centre and several bus routes, as well as local churches, schools and Killiney Bay.
The same agent has also handled the sale of 31 acres of land zoned residential on the Dublin Road outside Carlow town for around €550,000 per acre. It is close to another successful residential development, Castle Oaks.
Carlow has become a popular commuter town in recent years largely due to its good road network, particularly the N9.
The town is also served by five daily train services to and from Dublin.
Over the summer holidays, Savills HOK also negotiated a joint venture deal between Ballymore and RQB on a 16-acre riverside site on Thames Road in London. RQB is buying into the site which has a value of £200 million (€294 million).
