Chorus will charge an additional £2.50 (€3.17) per month to provide maintenance and service provision to its customers from the beginning of March. Customers unwilling to pay the charge will have to specifically opt out in writing. A spokeswoman for telecoms regulator, Ms Etain Doyle, said the office was concerned by the price increase and was investigating the matter.
