Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin transport and music retail group, has expressed interest in investing in the Dublin-Belfast rail line, a spokesman said yesterday. While Virginwas not participating in the consultative process on the possible privatisation of Iarnrod Eireann's services, the spokesman said the group would "look very closely" if an opportunity to use private capital to upgrade the network arose.
