Directors of small businesses should be entitled to the same tax allowances as workers, according to Mr Bertie Ahern, leader of Fianna Fail.

Speaking at the dinner dance of the Dublin South constituency in the Kilternan Hotel last night, Mr Ahern said directors of small businesses should not be deprived of the £800 a year PAYE allowance which is granted to all other employees.
