THE projected loss of £5 million in annual sales revenue from the termination of a computer manual contract put the dampers on a good set of annual results this week from printing group Adare. In the financial year ending last April, Adare's pre tax profits increased 141 per cent from £3.4 million to £8.2 million, a remarkable rate of growth primarily reflecting income from Mount Salus Press, purchased last year for £12 million.
An "in depth review" of the company's options is now planned. The Microsoft business represented around 60 per cent of Mount Salus income and the loss of profit will be around £600,000. A rationalisation programme costing £0.5 million brings the inevitable job losses, with at least 70 redundancies.
