Its corporate slogan, "profit from knowledge", proved to be empty philosophising for Web company Nua, which failed to raise the cash needed to stay alive beyond this week. But even as news filtered out on Monday that managing director Mr Gerry McGovern had suggested his unpaid-for-the-month staff members talk to the local social welfare office, the company eerily sent out its regular weekly edition of its Nua Internet Surveys without a mention of the company's demise. The survey contained a feature editorial. Rather unfortunately, it begins: "Many up-and-coming Net entrepreneurs saw their futures in dollar signs..."
