FAI Cup third round/ UCD 3 Limerick FC 1: Teenager Ronan Finn's youthful enthusiasm, and two well-taken goals, turned this game in UCD's favour as they came from behind to book their place in the quarter-finals of the FAI Cup.

With chairman Danny Drew in charge and midfielder Tommy Barrett having to play in goal due to a goalkeeping crisis, First Division Limerick started surprisingly well and deservedly went in front on 32 minutes when Robbie Kelleher scored following good play by Shane Guerin.

A sluggish UCD slowly came into the game, though, and equalised three minutes later when 18-year-old Finn angled a low drive past Barrett having been played through from Paul Byrne's flick.

Pushed up front from the restart, Finn put UCD in front within 30 seconds when drilling past Barrett at his near post from Conor Sammon's pass.

Substitute Stephen Hurley added UCD's third goal on 67 minutes with a terrific free kick.

"He's a good player and we've been very patient with him to make sure the time is right for him to come in and play," said UCD manager Pete Mahon of Finn.

"He has great energy, great enthusiasm for the game. All the things you are looking for in a young player. A passion for it, someone who cares about the game."
