United States television audiences are tuning out their national pastime's biggest moment, with record low ratings so far through two games of the World Series.
Cleveland and Florida are level at 1-1 in the best-of-seven series, which resumed in Cleveland last night for three games.
A 15.1 overnight rating, with each point equaling 980,000 homes, for the opening games was six percent off last year's viewership for the Atlanta-New York Yankees series - the third-worst in ratings history.
It has not helped that both games in Miami produced little drama, with winning clubs taking significant leads midway through the game and holding on for victory.
"That's what I see is missing - the high drama," said Joe Morgan, commentator for the NBC network showing the games.
