Park captain Brian Andrews could hardly have hoped for a more exciting start to Club Week. In the opening competition he aced the par-three sixth and later found he had a second reason to celebrate as his daughter Rachel had given birth to a baby girl.

Carmel Drum celebrated captain's day at Royal Tara with a hole-in-one at the 13th. There have been two aces at Craddockstown: Helen Kavanagh and Sheila Kavanagh (not related) have both holed out at the 11th in recent competitions.
