Camogie All-Ireland Championship: Wexford took revenge for Sunday week's National League final defeat with a 4-12 to 0-14 victory over Cork in Ballincollig in the opening round of the Gala Senior All-Ireland Camogie Championship.

Once Una Leacy found the net in the second minute, Wexford never trailed game and further goals from Leacy and Michelle Hearn (two) ensured a 4-5 to 0-7 interval lead.

Cork battled hard in the second half with good work from Gemma O'Connor, Jennifer O'Leary and Rena Buckley but Wexford were resilient with Sinéad Kelly scoring six points. Wexford will face Dublin on May 26th.

Dublin made a winning return to the senior ranks with a 6-7 to 1-7 win over Kilkenny in Portmarnock. Sarah Ryan scored five goals, two in the opening half, as Dublin held a 3-2 to 1-6 interval lead. Catherine Doherty goaled for Kilkenny who managed only one point in the second half, from Katie Power.

Meanwhile in Killimor, six players were on target for Tipperary who were 3-12 to 1-10 winners over Galway. Tipperary led 1-6 to 1-4 at the break with Emily Hayden the first-half goalscorer for the winners.

Veronica Curtin landed a penalty goal for Galway but Tipp pulled away in the second half with goals from Jill Horan and Claire Grogan.

In the Senior B championship Galway beat Tipp 3-7 to 0-12 while Cork beat Wexford 0-13 to 1-4. In the Junior championship there were wins for Clare, Waterford and Derry.
