Top flat trainer Dermot Weld has lost a "winner" from 2006 after Bobs Pride tested positive for a prohibited substance when finishing first at Fairyhouse in early November.

Bobs Pride tested positive for tranexamic acid after winning the St Margarets Novice Hurdle at on November 8th and the Turf Club's Referrals Committee yesterday disqualified him and promoted Davorin to first place.

Weld was fined €130 yesterday but the penalty was waived as the committee decided the substance was administered unknowingly and all reasonable precautions had been taken.

Another trainer, John Bowles, had to pay a €1,000 fine yesterday, as well as €500 in costs, after he was found to have behaved in an abusive manner to the Turf Club stewards secretary Lorcan Wyer at Downpatrick last August.

•Forget The Past provided a boost to the chances of his stable companion In Compliance in the Cheltenham Gold Cup with a smooth success in the Kinloch Brae Chase at Thurles yesterday.

Both horses are owned and trained respectively by Seán Mulryan and Michael O'Brien, but connections have repeatedly stated In Compliance is the stable's main hope for the blue riband and Forget The Past's two-length win from Hi Cloy will have boosted their confidence.
