AIDAN O'BRIEN, who has already sent out 10 Flat winners this season, continued his impressive start with a double via Crown Regent and Luna Spectrum at Tipperary yesterday.
Crown Regent opened his account in the University of Limerick Race, showing a fine turn of foot from the distance to beat Red Castle by two lengths. Luna Spectrum, also ridden close to the pace by Christy Roche, overcame a 613 day absence to land the Veterinary College Dublin Racing Club Maiden.
Jim Bolger also has his string in fine fettle, and the Coolcullen trainer recorded his eighth winner of the campaign when Elida justified strong market support in the Abbey School (Tipperary) Transition Year Handicap. The top weight was sent into a clear lead by Kevin Manning approaching the straight, and held Flying Blind by three quarters of a length.
John Oxx and Johnny Murtagh combined to land the University of Limerick Equestrian Club Maiden with all the way victor Medal Of Honour.
